Healthy Food for Happy Dogs

What Dogs Need

Dogs need protein, natural vitamins, natural minerals, adaptogens, nootropics, bio-actives, flavonoids, probiotics, prebiotics, antioxidants, polyphenols, and enzymes for a diversity of the gut microbiome. Dogs need food, in a form, with bioavailable nutrients. Rotating foods more often builds health and diverse digestibility. Dogs get the necessary nutrients when they eat a variety of foods including: muscle meats, organ meats, bone, vegetables, some fruits, some grains, seeds, some nuts, eggs, healthy oils, algae, and herbs.

Our Story

Welcome to Oak and Fin

Oak & Fin Dog Co. was established in 2024 to cultivate pet wellness, with the idea that dogs ARE nature. We brought our Goldendoodle, Oakley Grace, home in 2020 and I found it difficult to find dog food that was real food. I would never feed my children a bowl of dry cereal every meal so, I don’t want to feed my dogs like that either. I wanted our puppy to eat real unprocessed foods without synthetic vitamins and foods free from harmful chemicals.

I struggled to find natural dog foods, prepackaged in large quantities so, I started making homemade dog food. I prepared meals in advance and stocked our extra refrigerator with fresh foods just for Oakley. This was time consuming and sometimes stressful with our busy schedule. We brought home our second Goldendoodle, Finley Roscoe, in 2021. Our fluffy boy loves to eat! Making fresh food for two active dogs was challenging. I tried to make the switch to semi natural dog foods on the market but, they were expensive and still seemed to be depleted in the nutrients my dogs really needed. My family has watched me bake, chop, grind, blend and dehydrate many recipes for our dogs. I wasn’t always successful because I baked many foods that my dogs would not eat! After a few years of formulations and testing recipes with my own dogs, Oak & Fin Dog Co. was born. Oakley and Finley approve of and thrive on their new food options. They look forward to mealtimes with real whole foods.

We love bringing our dogs into the woods as much as possible. Our family enjoys sharing the outdoors with the dogs through camping and hiking. Our inner compass should be nature. With the guidance of nature, our dogs can be “nature strong”. May you and your dog’s always have abundance and strength. May you and your dog’s recognize nature as a guide.

Natures blessings to you and your dogs,

A Dogs Mental Health

A dog’s health, mental health and behaviors depend on what they eat. Dogs feel better, behave better and sleep better when they have the nutrients necessary to thrive. We can’t expect our dogs to be calm and make good choices if they are eating an unhealthy diet.

Oak & Fin Dog Co. is supported by my holistic approaches to mental and physical health. I believe in being connected to nature for supporting the body’s innate intelligence. Every dog needs a unique wellness program but, the foundations of healing always come back to nature. When we reconnect and move back to natural elements for strength, we find innate healing capabilities.

Dogs ARE nature, dogs ARE strong, and dogs ARE free. Dog owners can create freedom from an unhealthy food system by choosing natural strengthening foods.
